Feb 2020 : Everything Coming up roses

(This was the was the first newsletter published in 2020. Because of COVID -19 everything came to a screeching halt. Every show below was postponed, rescheduled or ended early.  Carte Blanche had just opened about 2 weeks before we got the stay home orders. Its been a wild ride but I thought it would be nice to share this anyway. ) Kate

February 2020
Welcome to my new newsletter for 2020. Since my Instagram was hacked I needed to step up my game, make a new site and start using multiple ways to reach my followers.

Looking back at 2019, I realize what a great year it was growing as an artist. This includes selling over 50 original paintings. What I learned is that art is different for each individual and that I cannot ever convince someone into liking a certain style. That is up to you. I have newfound confidence to continue exploring what interests me most, and I also encourage all my followers and collectors to do the same. Find what you love and start your own collection.

I hope after reading this you will click one of the three icons throughout this newsletter, to either contact me or follow me on my new "secure" Instagram page, or look around my website at your leisure.

As always, please email anytime with any questions. And please unsubscribe if you at any time do not want to receive unwanted emails.

Sincerely,

Kate

As serendipity might have it, on the same street as Oceanside Museum, one of San Diego's most anticipated restaurants for 2020 has included several pieces of my artwork in their gorgeous new location. Working closely with designer Laurel Evans Smith of Crows Perspective was a true joy. Her ability to have faith in me to complete the many artworks needed was a true success. I was incredibly happy as she let "me be me" as we collaborated and transformed her vision onto canvas.

The proprietors, brothers Brandon Ross and Ryan Ross are branching off from their parents’ Old Town restaurant business to open their own project with their wives, Carte Blanche Bistro & Bar in Oceanside. The siblings’ parents, Chuck and Gail Ross, took over and revitalized Fiesta de Reyes and the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Old Town. Carte Blanche will be a French-inspired Mexican bistro overseen by executive chef Alex Carballo. Some of the 160-seat, 4,300-square-foot restaurant’s dishes will include carne asada tartare, prickly pear ceviche, duck confit street tacos, chile verde moule frites and quinoa negra with beet and ricotta hummus.
